So, what had happened was…

I was looking for a specific old notebook of mine when I ran across a deeply felt but pretty awful poem I had written twenty-five years ago, two and half pages of pretty awful. Smh

Time assuredly does not heal all wounds but it apparently does remove the sting of removing what was likely precious to me then, excess word wise, entire lines now thrown out like kindling; hmmm, begs some thought, some reflection. When we remove the unnecessary and unreal, what remains? Do we risk it? Do we dare? Can we love us, revealed? I’ve heard we can. I have proof it can be worth it. I’ve seen the kind of miracle you are before.

Well, three stanzas is what I was left with, the scaffolding of earlier drafts. I hope you enjoy the audio of them above.
